Writtle Jazz is proud to present an evening of Jazz at the Northumberland Building, which is part of the Writtle College Campus on Lordship Road, Writtle.<\/p>\n

Unfortunatey Writtle Jazz Festival will not be taking place this year on the Village Green, but we are hoping to host a number of Jazz events at the Northumberland Building.<\/p>\n

The first of these events will take place on Saturday 27th July and feature Jazz Singer Lily Dior as our headline act. The evening will commence at around 5.30pm with supports acts. There will be a licenced bar, tea, coffee and culinary delights!<\/span><\/p>\n

Recognised as one of Australia\u2019s finest singers, Lily Dior has shared the stage with a remarkable list of outstanding musicians from Australia and around the world and has performed at many of Australia’s best venues including The Opera House Concert Hall, The State Theatre, Sydney Town Hall and The Domain. A finalist at The National Jazz Awards she is also an experienced radio personality and host of The Freedman Fellowship Jazz Awards.<\/p>\n

The daughter of professional musicians who met and married in London, Lily spent her first five years touring the world with her parents who then settled in Australia. Returning to her roots in 2014, Lily has spent the last two years in London building her reputation and has already established herself as an in demand performer appearing at iconic jazz venues such as Ronnie Scott\u2019s, The 606 Club and Pizza Express Soho.<\/p>\n

Discovered by the late great Jackie Orszaczky as a teenager, performing a show she wrote and produced on the life of Billie Holiday, Lily became a seminal member of Sydney\u2019s hottest Soul\/Funk outfit, \u2018The Godmothers\u2019, wowing audiences with her electric stage presence and powerful voice.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
